A native from Slovenia, Zlatko Kaučič (who celebrates his 70th birthday this year), is a prolific composer, drummer and free style artist. His work is iconoclastic and breaks through the barriers of conventional thought processes. Kaučič shows how far he has developed his craft and continues to communicate about the world around him on a surreal level. Barry Guy is an innovative bass player and composer whose creative diversity in the fields of jazz improvisation, chamber and orchestral performance and solo recitals is the outcome both of an unusually varied training and a zest for experimentation, underpinned by a dedication to the double bass and the ideal of musical communication. He is founder and Artistic Director of the London Jazz Composers Orchestra and the BGNO (Barry Guy New Orchestra). Agustí Fernández, with a perfectly based career and a wide and well-deserved international reputation, is one of the Spanish musicians of major international projection and a world reference in the field of improvised music. Fernández has worked with the founder fathers of the free improvisation scene Peter Kowald, Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, Barry Guy, and also with musicians like Zlatko Kaučič, Mats Gustafsson, Joe Morris and Peter Evans, among others. Kaučič/Guy/Fernández - three new music icons, masters of improvisation and refined composition that shared a musical connection before they even met.
