Formed in São Paulo, the mesmerizing Brazilian instrumental combo takes its name from the cultural melting pot of their home base - vibrant Bixiga neighborhood, where their recording studio is located on the bustling main street, at number 70. The music of Bixiga 70 is a captivating fusion of diverse Brazilian rhythms and influences. Drawing inspiration from the immense variety of rhythms found in Brazil, their sound encompasses an eclectic mix of styles that span the country’s rich musical heritage. From the infectious beats of samba and the grooves of funk to the pulsating energy of forró and the intricate melodies of choro, Bixiga 70 weaves together these elements to create a truly unique and immersive musical experience. From their inception, the band has been a true collective, sharing songwriting duties and the running of their recording studio.
