OFFest was established in 2002 as a second festival, which grew up from the long-established tradition of Skopje Jazz Festival. The main idea was to create another important music event in a different period of the year, and in terms of music genres, more wide-oriented. It was natural to start OFFest in the decades of full globalization that resulted in raising creativity, popularity and awareness of the so-called "world music". OFFest presents a variety of music from all continents, focusing on different categories, from traditional, ethno, folk, roots, to urban, contemporary and experimental music styles. A lot of renowned artist from all over the world performed throughout OFFest history.

The 19th edition of OFFest will take place from 2 to 6 of June. The featured line-up is fresh, diverse and exciting, more than ever. The sublime duo Lina_Raül Refree (Portugal/Spain) delivers a music for today, fado rewired and recast, a sound that goes beyond geography. Iranian/Turkish collaboration of Kayhan Kalhor & Erdal Erzincan shows stunning exhibition of world class musicianship. A captivating singer, performer and storyteller Silvia Pérez Cruz (Spain) presents an intimate, exciting, sensual, seductive and deeply moving performance. The unique versatility of Maria Mazzotta (Italy) goes perfectly well with the irresistible sherbet delight of Baklava’s (Macedonia). The magnificent power of one of Africa’s most inventive and distinctive singer-songwriter Blick Bassy (Cameroon/France) mixed with the furious and extraordinary highlife funk of Santrofi (Ghana) creates a very special African night. The fascinating electronic-psychedelic cumbia musical fireworks of Colombian tropical masters Los Pirañas blends with the East African retro-pop of Alsarah & The Nubatones (Sudan/USA). Finally, Mawimbi (France) makes you all dance until late-night hours. Their dj sets are eclectic, thrilling, passionate and soulful. Like OFFest 2020.
